Loafers might not sound like the most exciting footwear choice, but over the past week, I have noticed that not only are they the most popular shoes this winter, but they’re also becoming a solid red carpet choice. Maybe it’s all that time out of heels, but the likes of Little Simz and Dakota Johnson are swapping stilettos for loafers. When it comes to the style, there are two camps here. Celebrities are opting for either really chunky track soles, which help to toughen up dainty or overly pretty looks, or patent pairs with chain detailing across the foot. Of course, you can’t talk about loafers without mentioning Gucci, and Dakota Johnson has been wearing the brand’s Horsebit Loafers in brown leather.
